Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end project delivery including scope definition, timeline management, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines (batch, streaming, APIs) leveraging Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Databricks.

  • Act as final escalation point during incidents; provide architectural inputs and ensure closure with thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation.

  • Enforce robust data governance, metadata management, and data quality standards across all data lake zones.

  • Optimize performance through efficient data formats (e.g., Parquet) and advanced tuning techniques (e.g., caching, BI Engine, materialized views) for Databricks and Power BI.

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, with a focus on Azure services and DevOps best practices.

  • Guide schema designs and data integration strategies aligned with the client’s analytics vision.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, DevOps, and business units to ensure cohesive execution.

  • Manage incident and change requests within defined SLAs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as governance lead for SLA compliance, IAM policy enforcement, encryption standards, and data retention policies.

  • Ensure strict adherence to security and compliance policies (RBAC, ACLs, encryption) and readiness for regulatory audits.

  • Regularly report project progress, key KPIs, and business impact to senior leadership.

  • Lead monthly and quarterly governance reviews, delivering insights, optimizations, and strategic alignment updates to stakeholders.

  • Azure Data Platform Expertise: ADLS, ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Power BI

  • Data Governance & Compliance: Deep knowledge of metadata management, GDPR, ISO standards

  • Programming & Scripting: Spark, PySpark, SQL, JSON

  • Automation & IaC Tools: ARM Templates, Bicep, (Terraform – optional)

  • Strategic Alignment: Ability to tie technical architecture to business KPIs and change control frameworks

  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent stakeholder engagement, team mentoring, and leadership skills
