Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Azure Engineer to join our data engineering team, specializing in Azure Platform Operations and Automation. This role demands strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and automation tools, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex workflows and optimize data processes in a scalable cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and troubleshoot ADF (Azure Data Factory) and Databricks workflows, including pipelines, triggers, parameters, and linked services.

  • Investigate and resolve complex job failures; debug Spark jobs and analyze notebook execution graphs and logs.

  • Optimize ADF pipelines, data partitioning strategies, and ADLS formats (e.g., Parquet tuning).

  • Automate data pipeline deployment using Azure DevOps, ARM templates, PowerShell scripts, and Git-based repositories.

  • Enforce governance across data lifecycle rules, retention strategies, and consistency within raw/curated zones in ADLS.

  • Monitor resource consumption (compute clusters, storage, pipelines) and recommend cost-optimization strategies like auto-scaling and tiering.

  • Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for P1/P2 incidents; support change management, UAT coordination, and rollback validation.

  • Review Power BI dataset refresh issues and assist in improving refresh scheduling and performance tuning.

  • Validate SOPs and support documentation created by junior engineers, and drive standardization and automation improvements.

  • Azure Data Factory (ADF): 5+ Years (Advanced)

  • Databricks (PySpark): 5+ Years (Advanced)

  • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS): 3+ Years (Intermediate)

  • Azure Synapse Analytics: 3+ Years (Intermediate)

  • Python / PySpark: 3+ Years (Expert)

  • SQL / Spark SQL: 5+ Years (Intermediate)

  • DevOps (Azure DevOps, CI/CD): 3+ Years (Intermediate)

  • JSON configurations: 4+ Years (Intermediate)

  • Strong experience in monitoring tools (Azure Monitor), diagnostics, and cost governance.

  • Solid understanding of data security practices, IAM, RBAC, and audit trail enforcement.
